How To Dress On The Day Of Your Mri Appointment

Please wear comfortable clothing with no jewelery or metal on your body. It is best if you could wear sweat pants and a sweatshirt so you will not need to change into a paper gown. Since the MRI is a large magnet it will pull all metal items into it. For women, please do not wear a Bra with a metal clip and if you have a lot of hair clips & hair pins, they must be removed before the Mri exam. The Mri exam takes about 20 minutes to complete and you must try and remain still for that time.

If you have a Pacemaker you cannot have the Mri exam at all. Also you must let us know if you have any type's of metal implants.

Mri Imaging is a simple test with no radiation like a Cat Scan or an X-Ray has. The Mri images show all of the bodies internal anatomy at a very indepth view which allows the Radiologist to diagnose illnesses or injuries that other tests cannot see. It is a completely safe exam with no side effects.
